Wheaton Ends Bentley’s 30-Meet Win Streak, 183-118

NORTON, Mass. – In its first dual meet since January 2020, the Bentley University women's swimming and diving team saw its winning streak halted at 30 as Wheaton College won 11 of 16 events to prevail 183-118 at the Balfour Natatorium Saturday afternoon.

Bentley was led by junior Mary Huminski (Madison, Conn./Daniel Hand HS), who swept the diving competitions. The 2019-20 Northeast-10 Women's Diver of the Year captured the one-meter diving with 261.70 points and took the three-meter with a 248.00.

Classmate Dariana Gonzales (Stamford, Conn./Westhill HS) also had a strong meet for the Falcons. She swam to a win in the 200-yard backstroke (2:08.42) and was second in both the 200 freestyle (1:55.28) and the 200 individual medley (2:16.52).

Bentley's other winners were sophomore Emma Hapkiewicz (South Windsor, Conn./South Windsor HS) in the 1000 freestyle (10:56.62) and senior Rona Mejiritski (Bowling Green, Ohio/Bowling Green HS) in the 200 butterfly (2:15.83). Hapkiewicz, who was competing in her first official meet as a collegian, was also second in the 500 free, finishing in 5:24.58.

Freshman Hilla Almog (Wayland/Wayland HS), with scores of 244.60 off the one-meter and 194.70 from the three, was second to Huminski in both diving events.

Bentley's home opener will be Halloween Day with Le Moyne College providing the opposition.
