Le Chosen for Capital One Academic All-District Honors

WALTHAM, Mass. – Bentley University graduate student Amanda Le (Chelmsford/Chelmsford HS), a member of the Falcons' women's swimming and diving team, has been selected for the 2014 Capital One NCAA Division II Academic All-District 1 women's at-large team by members of the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

Le, who is now working on her Masters of Science in accountancy after completing her undergraduate work with a sparkling 3.87 grade point average, will advance to the national ballot for Capital One Academic All-America® consideration. That team will be announced next month.

Le, a two-time Academic All-Northeast-10 Conference selection, earned gold in the 200 yard individual medley at the conference championships and also captured silver in both the 100 breaststroke and the 200 breast.  She achieved NCAA "B" cut times in both of those breaststroke events with a 1:05.92 in the 100 and 2:21.94 in the 200.

Le owns the school records in both the 200 IM (2:09.07) and the 200 breast (2:21.76) and ranks in the top five in program history in three over events.

Le's undergraduate major was corporate finance and accounting. She made the President's List three times and is a member of the Bentley Honor Society.

The women's at-large program includes student-athletes competing in field hockey, golf, ice hockey, lacrosse, tennis, crew, bowling and gymnastics, as well as swimming. District 1 includes the Northeast-10, the East Coast Conference and the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference.

Capital One has been the entitlement rights holder to CoSIDA's Academic All-America teams program since 2011. The Division II and III Academic All-America programs are financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures, to assist CoSIDA with handling the awards fulfillment aspects of the program.
