Kaduboski Repeats as Women’s Swim MVP

WALTHAM, Mass. -- Senior two-time All-America Anne Kaduboski (Dedham/Dedham HS) was named the MVP of the Bentley University women's swimming and diving team for the second straight year, coach Mary Kay Samko announced recently.

Freshman Heather Exley (Oceanside, Calif./Vista HS) was honored as the team's Most Improved, and senior co-captain Larissa Brewster (Centerville/Barnstable HS) was the recipient of the Coach's Award. Sophomore diver Abby Mathews (Chelmsford/Chelmsford HS) was recognized with the team's Scholar-Athlete Award.

Kaduboski concluded a brilliant four-year career by earning Division II All-America honors twice at the NCAA Division II Championships, which were held in San Antonio. She finished fifth in the 200 yard butterfly with a time of 2:02.47, and followed that with an eighth-place finish in the 200 backstroke.

A three-time Northeast-10 Conference champion in the butterfly, Kaduboski is the owner of the Bentley school record in six individual events (50, 100 and 200 fly, 100 and 200 back, and 400 individual medley), and has her name next to four of the five relay records.

Exley finished her first collegiate season with a strong performance at the New England Intercollegiate Swimming and Diving Association Championships. She helped the Falcons win the 800 free relay, finished fifth in the 500 freestyle (5:20.79), swam to sixth in the 200 free (2:00.48) and was tenth in the 100 breaststroke (1:11.17). Her highest individual finishes at the Northeast-10 Championships were ninths in both the 200 free and 100 breast.

Brewster's top finishes in her final season were 16th in the 200 fly and 17th in the 400 individual medley at the Northeast-10 Championships.

Mathews, an outstanding student majoring in corporate finance and accounting, had a strong sophomore year as a diver for the Falcons. She earned a spot in the NCAA Division II pre-qualifying meet, was fourth in both diving events at the Northeast-10 Championships, and placed third in the three-meter and fourth in the one-meter at the NEISDA Championships.

Bentley was 11-0 during its dual schedule, first at the NEISDA Championships, second at the Northeast-10 Championships and a program-best 21st at the NCAA Division II Championships.
