Gleason Scores Again but Bentley Falls to Franklin Pierce 2-1

WALTHAM, Mass. – Bridget Gleason scored her fifth goal in four matches but Bentley fell to Franklin Pierce 2-1 on a rainy Saturday afternoon.

The defeat snapped Bentley's three-match unbeaten streak was their first setback of the season in NE10 matches. Their records go to 4-3-3 overall and 3-2-1 in conference play.

Gleason scored in the 58th minute to pull Bentley within 2-1. Sydney O'Connor threaded a beautiful through ball down the middle of the FPU defense that Gleason ran on to. She took a touch around the charging FPU keeper and chipped a shot over two defenders from about 12 yards out for the goal.

That was her team leading 6th goal and 12 point of the season.

Bentley however wasn't able to find the equalizer the rest of the way as Franklin Pierce hung on.

The Ravens took a 2-0 lead on goals by Ruby Conroy in the 26th minute and Claudia Peirce in the 57th minute.

Bentley's next match is on Oct. 14 at home against Adelphi.
