Gleason nets two goals in 3-0 win over AIC

WALTHAM, Mass. – Bridget Gleason scored two goals and Jenna Hendriksen scored the third as the Bentley women's soccer team ran past AIC 3-0 on Tuesday.

Playing their first home match since Sept. 6, the Falcons continued their unbeaten start to NE10 play at 2-0-1.

The Hendriksen sisters Jill and Jenna helped set up Gleason's first goal in the 21st minute. Jill played a pass from just inside the center line to Jenna, who took a few dribbles and fed a through ball into the penalty area. Gleason ran on to the pass, dribbled around AIC keeper Tia Kelk and shot from about seven yards away for the goal.

Bentley took the 1-0 lead into the second half and just before the hour mark scored twice in just over two minutes.

Gleason's second goal, in the 59th minute, began with a corner kick. Abigail Cash was first to it and took a shot from 20 yards that was saved by Kelk. But Gleason was there to pounce on the rebound and bury it into the back of the net for the goal and 2-0 lead.

In the 61st minute Jenna Hendriksen's first career goal made it 3-0. Off a throw-in in the attacking end, Sydney O'Connor had a shot from 25 yards that was blocked. Hendriksen was first to the rebound and her shot from 15 yards went over Kelk's head for the goal.

Bentley outshot the Yellow Jackets 15-11 and goalkeeper Claire Ewen, the reigning NE10 Goalie of the Week, made three saves for her fourth shutout of the season.
