Bentley Ties 1-1 with Molloy in Dacey’s First Match

GARDEN CITY, N.Y. – The Bentley women's soccer team and Molloy played to a 1-1 draw on Thursday afternoon in the season opener, and in what was the first game on the sidelines for new Falcons head coach Sarah Dacey.

After a scoreless opening 41-plus minutes, Molloy scored the match's first goal off the foot of Olivia Ingenito in the 42nd minute.

But just after halftime, Bentley scored the equalizer with senior Ryenne Feeney scoring in the 47th minute.

Goalkeeper Claire Ewen started with the ball and fed it to Feeney in the defensive end. Bentley worked the ball down the left side of the field until Jenna Hendriksen fed a cross into the penalty area that the Molloy keeper couldn't control. Feeney pounced on the loose ball and scored from 12 yards out.

Ewen made four saves, two in the first half and two in the second half.

Bentley will continue its season opening trip on Long Island on Saturday when they take on Wilmington (Del.) at 4:00 PM.
