No. 23 Ranked Adelphi Tops Bentley 2-0

GARDEN CITY, N.Y. – No. 23 ranked Adelphi ran its unbeaten streak to seven matches with a 2-0 victory over Bentley University on Friday night.

The Panthers received goals from grad student Alexa Mihale in the 6th minute and freshman Madison Apicella in the 28th minute. They improved to 8-2-1 overall on the season and remained unbeaten in Northeast-10 matches at 6-0-1.

Mihale, a transfer from the University of Vermont, netted her second goal of the season to give Adelphi an early 1-0 lead.

Apicella then added to the host's lead in the 28th minute with her sixth goal of the season, which tied her for the NE10 lead.

Bentley forced Adelphi keeper Lydia Cordoba into five saves on the night. Senior Brooke Jones (Duxbury, Mass./Duxbury) led the Falcons with two shots on goal and four shots overall.

Amanda Andriano (Fort Salonga, N.Y./St. Anthony's), Jill Hendriksen (Pembroke, Mass./Pembroke) and Ryenne Feeney (Boxford, Mass./Masconomet) also had shots on goal.

Bentley will be back in action on Monday afternoon when they host Mercy for a non-conference match at 3:00 PM
