Bentley Suffers 2-0 Setback to No. 25 Franklin Pierce

RINDGE, N.H. – No. 25 ranked Franklin Pierce scored two second half goals to pick up a 2-0 victory over the Bentley women's soccer team on Friday night.

The Ravens improved to 7-2-1 overall and have won four of their last five matches. The Falcons saw their records fall to 3-4-3 overall and 2-3-1 in the Northeast-10.

This was the second meeting of the season between the two teams, after a 1-1 tie in a non-conference match in Waltham back in August.

This match was scoreless past the 60 minute mark until midfielder Salome Kerguillec put the Ravens in front in the 63rd minute. A free kick from about 50 yards out was sent into the box, which Kerguillec got her head on to loft it into the net.

In the 84th minute, Franklin Pierce doubled its lead with a goal by Jasmine Perez-Acosta. This goal came off a corner kick and Kerguillec was involved again by sending the kick in that found Perez-Acosta on the far post for a header goal.

Falcons goalkeeper Claire Ewen (Arlington, Mass./Arlington) made seven saves, which matched her season high, set last weekend against Saint Rose.

Bentley forced Ravens goalkeeper Emilie Fox into four saves. Senior midfielder Brooke Jones (Duxbury, Mass./Duxbury) led the team with three shots on goal.

Bentley's next match is next Friday night at Adelphi.
