Hunt Named to CCA All-East Region Second Team

Waltham, Mass. – Senior center back Riane Hunt (Millis, Mass./Millis) from the Bentley University women's soccer team has been named to the Division II Conference Commissioner's Association Women's Soccer All-East Region Second Team.

Hunt has played every minute of every game this season for the Falcons. She's helped lead a defense that has been a strength of a team that was selected to the NCAA Tournament for the first time on Tuesday.

Bentley has 10 shutouts this season, and seven shutouts in the last nine games as the team has made its run to the NCAAs with a 7-1-1 record in that span. There was a streak of five shutouts in a row from Oct. 11-Oct. 30, and a stretch of 531 minutes without a goal conceded that included the five full games and parts of two others.

Hunt was previously named first team All-Conference last week, and she now adds the All-Region honor to her mantle. A team captain this season, she has started 63 of a possible 69 matches in her career.

Bentley will take the field in the first round of the NCAA Championship on Friday against Molloy as the No. 6 seed in the East Region. The match kicks off at 10:00 am on the campus of Mercy College in Dobbs Ferry, N.Y.
