Macrorie Named Northeast-10 Goalkeeper of the Week
WALTHAM, Mass. – The Northeast-10 announced Tuesday that Bentley junior Deirdre Macrorie (Winchester, Mass./Winchester) has been chosen as its Goalkeeper of the Week after helping the Falcons to a sweep of the season opening Kickoff Classic over the weekend.
It's the third time in her career Macrorie has been named Goalkeeper of the Week. The other two times came in her freshman and sophomore years, and both were on the opening weekend of the season, as this season's award is.
At the Kickoff Classic, Macrorie posted two shutouts as the Falcons won both matches; 5-0 over Dominican on Friday and 3-0 over Molloy on Sunday.
Macrorie, who started her 20th straight match this weekend, a streak which dates back to 2014, made five total saves on the weekend. The shutouts were the 7th and 8th of her career.
The Falcons will take their 2-0 record into Saturday's match at New York Tech, their final non-conference tilt of the season. The action gets underway at 2:00 pm.
