Big Week Ahead for Women’s Lacrosse with Games vs. St. Michael’s and Pace

WALTHAM, Mass. – Just three games remain in the regular season and the NE10 playoffs are looming. The Falcons will look to solidify their position with games against St. Michael's on Wednesday night away and home against #1 ranked Pace on Saturday.

 

Playoff Picture

With three games left in the regular season, Bentley is tied for third in the NE10 standings with a 6-2 record. They are tied with New Haven, but the Chargers now hold the head-to-head tiebreaker after Saturday's narrow 14-13 victory over the Falcons.

The Falcons hold a half-game lead over 6-3 Saint Anselm for the fourth spot, and also own the head-to-head tiebreaker over the Hawks.

The top eight teams qualify for the postseason and the top four host a quarterfinal game on May 4.

 

National Ranking

Bentley is ranked 18th in this week's IWLCA poll, holding steady from the previous few weeks.

 

Johnson Racks Up The Goals

Meave Johnson scored seven goals in Saturday's game against New Haven. That was her third game in the last four with at least six goals. She had nine against Saint Rose on April 6 and six against Southern N.H. on April 10.

With 50 goals on the season, Johnson is tied for the NE10 lead. The program single-season record is 66, held by Bentley Hall of Famer Alyssa Ritchie from the 2009 season.

Johnson has 70 points so far, fourth most in the NE10. The program single-season record is 93, also held by Ritchie from the 2009 season.

 

Statistical Look Around

Bentley ranks 3rd in the NE10 in fewest goals allowed per game at 10.21. They are 4th in goals scored per game at 14.92.

Lauren Rochel leads the NE10 with a 53.7 save percentage. She is third in goals against average at 8.86.

Caroline Affolter is 5th in draw controls with 64.

 

Series History

Bentley leads the all-time series over the Purple Knights 21-7 and have won 14 straight in the series.

Pace, the defending Division II national champions, lead the series 6-2 over Bentley.
