Falcons Host Franklin Pierce Tuesday Night for Morgan’s Message Game

WALTHAM, Mass. – Women's lacrosse will host Franklin Pierce on Tuesday night for its annual Morgan's Message Game to help support the organization which advocates for the mental health of student-athletes.

Morgan's Message was created by the family and former teammates of Morgan Rodgers, a former Duke University lacrosse student-athlete, with the mission of eliminating the stigma surrounding mental health, normalizing conversations about mental health, and to ensure that mental health is treated equally to physical health for all student-athletes.

For more information on Morgan's life and legacy, and how you can join our student-athletes in helping those with mental health struggles, please visit MorgansMessage.org.

National Ranking

The Falcons are ranked 19th in this week's IWLCA poll, down one spot from 18 last week.

Six NE10 teams are in the top-25, led by Pace at #1.

Milestones

Maeve Johnson scored her 100th career goal in Saturday's win over AIC. She became the 14th player in school history to reach that milestone. She's currently tied for 13th all-time in program history in career goals, with 41 games played.

Courtney Dermody surpassed 100 career points on Saturday as well with one goal and one assist. With 101 career points, she needs 17 more to break into the top-15 all-time in school history.

What a Debut

Freshman goalie Lauren Rochel made 19 saves in her first career start and earned the win on March 27 against nationally ranked Assumption. She had a 70.4 percent save percentage in the 10-8 victory.

She also started and earned the win on Saturday against AIC and was named the NE10 Goalie of the Week.

Her 19 saves are the most by a Falcons goalie in a single game since former All-America Eliza Bresler had 22 against Southern New Hampshire on April 27, 2019.

Series History

Bentley holds a 23-1 edge over Franklin Pierce in the all-time series. They have four straight wins in the series, including 21-9 last season on the road.

The Falcons visit Saint Rose on Saturday for the third all-time meeting between the two programs.
