No. 14 Bentley Falls at No. 7 Florida Southern 17-8

LAKELAND, Fla. – No. 7 ranked Florida Southern used a balanced offensive attack to defeat No. 14 ranked Bentley 17-8 on Saturday.

It was a rematch of last season's game, which the Falcons won in overtime 17-16 over Southern, which was ranked No. 2 nationally at the time.

Hannah Hale had four goals for the Mocs to lead their offensive output and Madison Tare had three.

For the Falcons, Caroline Affolter, Maeve Johnson and Amber Kiricoples each had two goals.

In the early going Bentley used a 3-0 run in the middle of the first quarter to take a 4-3 lead. Courtney Dermody and Kiricoples had goals 59 seconds apart and Amanda Davis added a goal at the 1:28 mark.

The Mocs closed the quarter with a 2-0 run to retake the lead at 5-4 and that was the start of a 6-0 run which saw their lead expand to 9-4.

Johnson scored for Bentley at 2:05 of the 2nd but it was 10-5 deficit at halftime.

Southern went on to outscore the Falcons 7-4 in the second half.
