MANCHESTER, N.H. – No. 14 ranked Bentley outscored Southern New Hampshire 4-2 in the 4th quarter to secure a 15-12 road win on Tuesday afternoon.

The Falcons, who improved to 7-3 on the season and 5-1 in the Northeast-10, led 11-10 after the 3rd quarter.

They went on a 3-0 run over the first five-plus minutes of the 4th quarter to open up a 14-10 lead. The first two goals of the run came from junior Caroline Affolter (Newburyport, Mass./Central Catholic) just 54 seconds apart at the 11:59 and 11:05 marks.

The next goal came from sophomore Amanda Davis (Saunderstown, R.I./La Salle), assisted by Maeve Johnson (Duxbury, Mass./Duxbury), at 9:41 to make the score 14-10.

SNHU pulled to within two goals of the lead with two straight goals, the second by Courtney Cronin on a free-position to make the score 14-12 with 6:50 remaining.

But Bentley allowed SNHU just one more possession the rest of the game, one that ended in a shot clock violation, with 3:56 remaining.

Back with possession, Bentley worked a couple of minutes off the clock until Davis scored a man-up goal with 56 seconds left for a 15-12 lead.

Bentley led 5-2 after the first quarter and the teams exchanged lengthy runs in the second quarter, 5-0 for the Penmen and 3-0 for the Falcons. The half ended with the visitors ahead 8-7.

Each squad scored three goals in the third quarter as the Falcons held an 11-10 edge heading into the fourth frame.

Affolter led the Bentley offense with four goals, and seniors Sydney Lynch (Bedford, N.H./Bedford) and Kenzie Lupton (Canandaigua, N.Y.) each had hat tricks. Lupton added two assists for a career-high five points.

Lynch snagged six draw controls and sophomore Kathryn Slattery (Chelmsford, Mass./Chelmsford) had a game-high two caused turnovers.
