WALTHAM, Mass. – Junior attacker Maeve Johnson (Duxbury, Mass./Duxbury) had 10 points on six goals and four assists to lead No. 22 ranked Bentley to a 15-7 victory over Southern Connecticut State on Sunday.
Johnson's output was just one point shy of tying the program record of 11 for points in a single game. That record was set by Lauren Ferraro in March of 2001.
Johnson had one goal and two assists in the first quarter as the Falcons led 4-3 after the first 15 minutes. She notched two goals and two assists in the 2nd quarter as Bentley led 9-5 at halftime. Johnson had the game's only goal of the 3rd quarter, then finished her day with two goals in the 4th quarter.
Sophomore Amanda Davis (Saunderstown, R.I./La Salle) had a hat trick for the second straight game and senior Kenzie Lupton (Canandaigua, N.Y./Canandaigua) scored twice.
The Falcons won 21 draw controls to Southern's five, led by senior Sydney Lynch (Bedford, N.H./Bedford) with eight. Johnson and Caroline Affolter (Newburyport, Mass./Central Catholic) each had six.
Sophomore goalie Ashlee Wargo (Madison, Conn./Daniel Hand) made six saves to earn her second straight win.
The Falcons are now 2-0 in the NE10 on the season and 2-1 overall. They will next be in action on Thursday at Franklin Pierce.
