Bresler Breaks Bentley’s Career Saves Record in Falcons 17-4 Win at SNHU

Hookset, N.H. – Bentley's graduate student goalie Eliza Bresler (Newton, Mass./Newton North) broke the women's lacrosse program's record for career saves in helping the 13th ranked Falcons to a 17-4 win at Southern New Hampshire on Saturday.

Bresler broke the record of 563 career saves, held by Christina Guglielmo, Class of 2009. She came into the game with 560 career saves and broke the record with a save at the 9:21 mark of the 1st half.

She finished the game with 13 saves and a 76.5 save percentage.

Senior attacker Julia Glavin (Ipswich, Mass./Ipswich) led the offense with three goals and three assists. Defensively, sophomore Hannah Aronwitz (Niskayuna, N.Y./Niskayuna) had a game high four caused turnovers and senior Dana Lewandowski (Franklin, Mass./Franklin) had three.

Bentley led 8-3 at halftime, then came out on fire in the 2nd half. They scored four goals in the first nine-plus minutes to open up a 12-3 lead. Glenna Gies (Madison, Conn./Daniel Hand), Caroline Affolter (Newburyport, Mass./Central Catholic), Cara McCarthy (Salem, N.H./Central Catholic) and Glavin had goals during the run.

The run actually extended to 7-0 over the next 10-plus minutes, after goals by Glavin, Courtney Dermody (Bedford, N.H./Bedford) and Caroline Aufiero (Fairfield, Conn./Fairfield) gave Bentley a 15-3 lead.

The Falcons closed out the game with a pair of goals by sophomore Katherine Hesslink (Shelburne, Vt./Canterbury).

Bentley improved to 7-2 with the win today, and 6-2 in the NE10 Northeast Division. They'll to put another in the win column on Tuesday night when they host Saint Anselm.
