No. 13 Bentley Clamps Down on St. Michael’s in 12-2 Victory

Colchester, Vt. – No. 13 ranked Bentley University fought through tough weather conditions and clamped down defensively on Saint Michael's for a 12-2 victory on the road on Thursday afternoon.

The Falcons improved to 6-2 on the season with the win and 5-2 in the Northeast-10 Northeast Division.

Graduate student goaltender Eliza Bresler (Newton, Mass./Newton North) continued to shine. She made 13 saves against 15 shots faced for an 86.7 save percentage. She also had six ground balls and three caused turnovers.

It was career win No. 28 for Bresler, which moved her into 3rd all-time on Bentley's career wins list. She also moved into 2nd place on the program's all-time saves list with 547, just 17 away from setting the school record.

Senior attacker Julia Glavin (Ipswich, Mass./Ipswich) led Bentley's offense with three goals, which all came in the first half to help the team to an 8-1 halftime lead. Junior Christine Fish (Slingerlands, N.Y./Guilderland) and freshman Caroline Affolter (Newburyport, Mass./Central Catholic) chipped in with two goals each on the day.

Four different players scored Bentley's four goals in the 2nd half. Kayli Keenan (Pelham, N.H./Bishop Guertin), Fish, Affolter and sophomore Sydney Lynch (Bedford, N.H./Bedford).

In addition to Bresler's three caused turnovers, Fish had three and Affolter and senior Dana Lewandowski (Franklin, Mass./Franklin) each had two.

Bentley will go for win number seven on the season on Saturday when they are scheduled to visit Southern New Hampshire.
