No. 14 Ranked Bentley Beats Stonehill on the Road, 11-9

Easton, Mass. – No. 14 ranked Bentley women's lacrosse went on the road and earned an 11-9 win over Stonehill on Wednesday afternoon.

The Falcons won their second straight game and improved to 4-1 on the season and 3-1 in the NE10 Northeast Division.

Graduate student goalie Eliza Bresler (Newton, Mass./Newton North) made 11 saves. She made two big saves inside the final four minutes and also had a caused turnover and ground ball pickup on Stonehill's final possession to help seal the win.

Senior attacker Julia Glavin (Ipswich, Mass./Ipswich) led Bentley's offense with three goals. That moved her into 7th all-time in program history with 123 career goals.

The game was close the whole way, with the biggest lead being 9-6 for Bentley with 12:37 left after a goal by junior Glenna Gies (Madison, Conn./Daniel Hand).

Bentley then led 10-8 with just over five minutes remaining after a goal by junior Caroline Boudreau (Foxborough, Mass./Foxborough). Bresler came up with two straight saves on Stonehill's next possession. But after Bentley was denied on a free-position shot on its next possession, Stonehill's Shannon Hughes scored with 2:31 left to make it a one goal game at 10-9.

But Glavin won the ensuing draw control, then scored with 1:21 remaining to give Bentley an 11-9 lead. Cara McCarthy (Salem, N.H./Central Catholic) had the assist on the goal.

Stonehill won the next draw control, but Bresler caused a turnover, scooped up the ground ball and drew a foul as the Falcons were able to run out the clock to secure the win.

Bentley will next go for its third straight win on Saturday when they face Assumption on the road.
