This Day in Bentley History - May 4, 2016: Bentley Women's Lacrosse Beats Stonehill 9-8 in the NE10 Quarters
On May 4, 2016 the Bentley women's lacrosse team defeated rival Stonehill 9-8 in the NE10 quarterfinals for its 11th straight victory. Sophomore Kathleen Gillespie scored the game winning goal with 1:32 remaining to break an 8-8 tie. Bentley then won the ensuing draw control and drained the remaining time of the clock to secure the win and advance to the NE10 semifinals against Le Moyne.
The Falcons came into the game red hot and riding a 10 game winning streak, which was already a program record. In the final game of the regular season four days earlier, Bentley defeated New Haven 12-8 for its 10th straight victory and to claim the No. 3 seed in the NE10 playoffs.
Bentley finished the 2016 season with 13 wins, which tied a program record that was set in 2000.
