Waltham, Mass. – Senior goalie Eliza Bresler (Newton, Mass./Newton North) will captain the Bentley women's lacrosse team for the 2020 season, head coach Taylor Bastien announced.

Last season Bresler became the first player in the program's history to be named a first team All-American. She was also chosen as the NE10 Goalie of the Year, in addition to first team All-Region and first team All-NE10 recognitions.

"Eliza is not only a tremendous player, but also a compassionate teammate and person who sets a great example for our players on and off the field," said Bastien. "We also have a very strong junior class who have taken on more of a leadership role and will look to guide the team this season." 

Bresler tied for the national lead in saves last season with 217, and ranked second in saves per game at 12.76. She posted the nation's sixth best save percentage at .529, and set the Bentley season single record for ground balls with 68.

The season opener for the women's lacrosse team is just five days away. The team will travel down to Molloy on Feb. 26.
