Bentley Ranked 17th in IWLCA Preseason Poll

Waltham, Mass. – The Bentley women's lacrosse team is ranked 17th in the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association Preseason poll.

The Falcons are coming off a strong 2019 season that saw them go 11-6 overall and finish in a tie for 3rd in the Northeast 10 regular season with a 9-4 record. They were ranked 19th in the final IWLCA poll of the season.

The 2020 season begins for the Falcons on February 26 at Molloy, and head coach Taylor Bastien will welcome back 18 players from the 2019 team that only graduated two seniors. Five players that were named All-Conference return, including two in senior goalie Eliza Bresler (Newton, Mass./Newton North) and junior midfielder Julia Glavin (Ipswich, Mass./Ipswich) that were named All-Region as well.

Junior Cara McCarthy (Salem, N.H./Central Catholic) and sophomore Caroline Boudreau (Foxborough, Mass./Foxborough), the team's second and third leading scorers from 2019, and junior defender Kate Schmal (Saint James, N.Y./Smithtown), were also named All-Conference last season.

The returning group of 18 will be strengthened by a group of nine newcomers.
