Bresler, Glavin, Woods and Schmal Named to Northeast-10 All-Conference Teams

WALTHAM, Mass. – A quarter of Bentley University women's lacrosse players were named to the Northeast-10's All-Conference teams; defender Erin Woods (Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla./Ponte Vedra), goalie Eliza Bresler (Newton, Mass./Newton North) and freshmen Julia Glavin (Ipswich, Mass./Ipswich) and Kate Schmal (Saint James, N.Y./Smithtown East).

Woods and Bresler were both chosen second team All-Conference, while Glavin and Schmal were both chosen to the All-Rookie team. The voting is done by the conference's head coaches and is based on the regular season.

Woods, a senior, started every game for the third straight season, and in fact, her streak of consecutive games started goes all the way back to her freshman season for a run of 63 consecutive starts. She was a team co-captain this season, and ranked third on the squad in caused turnovers (16).

Bresler had a standout sophomore campaign in her first season as the starter. She finished the season leading the NE10 in total saves (202), and ranked third in the conference in save percentage (51.7). Twice named the NE10 Goalie of the Week, Bresler had seven games where she made at least 14 saves, with five of those games against ranked teams.

Glavin made an immediate impact as she led the team in a number of categories. Playing as an attacker, she led the squad in both goals (47) and points (56), but also led the team in draw controls (80) and caused turnovers (18). At the end of the regular season, Glavin was second in the NE10 in goals among freshmen. She was just outside the top 10 overall in draw controls.

Schmal was a key contributor to Bentley's defensive unit. She started 14 games and played in all 16, while she caused 11 turnovers and scooped up 21 ground balls.

Bentley finished its season with a 9-7 record, which included four wins over ranked teams. In the NE10 they went 8-5 and are currently ranked No. 20 by the IWLCA.
