WALTHAM, Mass. – Bentley University midfielder Kathleen Gillespie (Topsfield, Mass./Masconomet) has been named the Northeast-10 Women's Lacrosse Rookie of the Week.

In helping Bentley to a 2-0 week, she scored a combined six goals, added one assist and pulled down 17 draw controls in the two games.

In the team's 19-10 win over Assumption on March 31, she scored a season high four goals to go along with 10 draw controls, also a season best. She followed that up with two goals, one assist and seven draw controls in a 14-10 victory over Southern Connecticut on Saturday.

Gillespie is fifth on the team in points with 17, coming on 14 goals and three assists. Her 58 draw controls on the season is good for third best in the NE-10.

Bentley next takes the field on Wednesday at home against Saint Michael's, in search of its third straight win. Game time is 6:00 pm.
