Four Bentley Players Earn IWLCA All-North Region Honors

WALTHAM, Mass. – Four Bentley University players have earned spots on the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association's Division II All-North Region teams. Junior goalie Ally Dorman (Simsbury, Conn./Simsbury) was named first team All-North Region.

Three other Falcons were named second team All-North Region. Senior attack Cori Geiger (Agawam, Mass./Agawam), junior midfielder Carolyn Kynoch (Ashland, Mass./Ashland) and sophomore defenseman Amy Ernst (Long Valley, N.J./West Morris Central).

All four players, who were each voted Northeast-10 All-Conference last week and are all first time All-Region honorees, are now eligible to be selected to the IWLCA Division II All-America teams, which will be announced May 9.

Dorman, named the 2013 NE-10 Goalie of the Year, played every minute of the Falcons' 18 games this season. She went 11-7 with a 10.29 goals against average and a .445 save percentage. Her GAA is the fourth lowest in program history.

Geiger wrapped up her career this season as one of the most decorated players in the program's history. A four-time, second team All-Conference choice, Geiger was second on the team this year in both assists (21) and points (50), while placing fourth in goals (29). Her career numbers of 157 goals, 105 assists and 262 points are all second in school history.

Kynoch had a breakout junior campaign that was recognized with a first team All-Conference selection last week. She led the squad in draw controls (70), was second in caused turnovers (20) and third in ground balls (36). Kynoch also played a big role offensively with 27 goals and eight assists.

Ernst started 17 of 18 games in her second collegiate season and scooped up 24 ground balls to go along with 12 caused turnovers. She was a key part of a Bentley defense that allowed just over 10 goals a game, which is among the leaders in the NE-10.

Bentley, which wrapped up its season with an 11-7 record, is ranked No. 14 in this week's IWLCA poll.
