Women’s Lacrosse Earn Academic Honors from IWLCA

WALTHAM, Mass. – The Bentley women's lacrosse team has earned two academic honors from the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Association for the 2012 season. The Falcons were named a Merit Squad for having one of the top-three team GPAs in Division II, and were also named an Academic Squad for having a team GPA of 3.0 or higher.

The IWLCA bestowed Merit Squad status to the programs with the best three team GPAs in each of the three NCAA Divisions for the 2011-12 academic year. Bentley's 3.39 GPA was the second highest in Division II, bested only slightly by Georgian Court's 3.40. Philadelphia University was the other Division II team honored.

The Falcons were also named an Academic Squad by the IWLCA on Monday, as one of 19 Division II programs to have a team GPA of 3.0 or higher.

On the field Bentley went 13-6 (9-3 NE-10) last season and advanced to the NE-10 semifinals. They finished the year ranked ninth by the IWLCA.
