No. 11 Bentley Runs Past So. New Hampshire 20-13

WALTHAM, Mass. – Junior Cori Geiger (Agawam, Mass./Agawam) had five goals and sophomore Chelsea Larivee (Amherst, N.H./Souhegan) netted four as the Bentley women's lacrosse team posted a 20-13 victory over Southern New Hampshire in Northeast-10 play Wednesday night.

The Falcons did their damage in the first half, outscoring the Penmen 14-7 in the first 30 minutes. Senior Emily Mongeau scored the first goal of the game for Southern, but after that it was all Bentley. They ran off six straight goals in under four minutes, with Geiger and Larivee each scoring twice.

After Southern scored two of the next three goals to make the score 7-3, Bentley went on a 7-2 run to open up a 14-5 lead with 8:24 left in the half.

Geiger scored the first goal of the second half to give Bentley a 15-7 lead, and the Penmen wouldn't get any closer than seven goals the rest of the game. The lead got to as large as 19-9 after Margeaux Guercia (Boxford, Mass./Masconomet) scored at the 10:18 mark.

Sophomore goalie Ally Dorman (Simsbury, Conn./Simsbury) earned the win for Bentley, and senior Kate Poznick (Fitchburg, Mass./St. Bernard's) stopped eight shots in the second half.

The Falcons are now 2-0 in the NE-10 and 2-2 overall. Southern drops to 1-4 overall and 1-2 in conference play.

Bentley is back in action on Friday night at No. 14 Molloy.
