Strong First Half Lifts No. 3 C.W. Post over No. 11 Bentley, 18-3

WALTHAM, Mass. – No.3 C.W. Post scored 11 goals in the first half on its way to an 18-3 win over No. 11 Bentley in the Falcons' home-opener on Sunday afternoon in non-conference women's lacrosse. Sophomore Jackie Sileo had four goals and four assists for the Pioneers.

C.W. Post did its damage early as they scored five times in the first 10-plus minutes, and eventually led 11-0 late in the first half before Bentley got on the scoreboard.

Of those 11, junior Abbie Ross and sophomore Samantha Losco netted three, and Sileo had two. Freshman Amy Ernst (Long Valley, N.J./West Morris Central) scored the first goal for Bentley with 2:39 left in the half.

The Falcons produced a better effort in the second half. They won seven draw controls to the Pioneers' one to maintain possession more, and turned that into nine shots on goal. Senior Megan Wiggins (Acton, Mass./Acton-Boxborough) and sophomore Carolyn Kynoch (Ashland, Mass./Ashland) had the goals for Bentley.

C.W. Post stays unbeaten with the win and is now 3-0 on the season, while the Falcons fall to 1-2.

Bentley is back in action on Wednesday night when they host Southern New Hampshire for its second Northeast-10 game of the season.
