WALTHAM, Mass. – The Bentley women's lacrosse team was one of 16 Division II schools to earn Academic Squad honors from the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association, it was announced recently.

To be named an Academic Squad, a team must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher. The Falcons posted a 3.22 GPA during the 2010-11 academic year. They're one of just four Northeast-10 teams to earn the distinction.

"I'm very proud of this achievement and I think it's a testament to all of the hard work our girls put in throughout the year, both on and off the field," said head coach Carissa Medeiros. "It's also indicative of the high caliber of student athletes we attract here at Bentley."

On the field, Bentley finished last season 9-8 overall and 7-5 in the NE-10.
