Geiger Named Second Team All-Conference, Larivee All-Rookie

WALTHAM, Mass. – Sophomore Cori Geiger (Agawam, Mass./Agawam) has been named to the 2011 Northeast-10 Women's Lacrosse All-Conference second team at attack, and freshman Chelsea Larivee (Amherst, N.H./Souhegan) has been named to the All-Rookie team, the league announced Tuesday afternoon.

Geiger was Bentley's leading scorer with 71 points, her second straight 70-plus point season after scoring 76 as a freshman. She also led the team in assists (29) and was second in goals (42), behind junior Megan Wiggins' (Acton, Mass./Acton-Boxborough) 46. She had nine games with at least four points, topped by a nine point effort against Southern Connecticut in the season-finale.

Geiger was also effective in other areas, leading the team in draw controls (37) and picking up 34 ground balls.

Through two seasons she already has amassed 147 points, which is sixth in program history, and owns two of the top-five highest scoring seasons in program history.

Larivee, a midfielder, earned All-Rookie honors after a 38 point season on 27 goals and 11 assists, which placed her third on the team in each category. She had three games with four goals and had a season-best six points against Saint Anselm on April 26.

She was near the top in several other categories; third in ground balls (40) and caused turnovers (16) and fourth in draw controls (25).

The Falcons finished their season with an overall record of 9-8 and 7-5 in the NE-10.
