Tiana-Jo Carter, a 2018 graduate of the University of Albany, is in her second year as graduate assistant women's basketball coach at Bentley University.

Carter, who is pursuing her MBA with a concentration in data analytics, came to Bentley after a year as an assistant coach at Central Maine Community College. During her year with CMCC, she helped the Mustangs post a 27-4 record and reach the USCAA Small College Division II national championship game.

"A great addition to our women's basketball program, Tiana-Jo Carter will work with our post players," said White. "T-Jo has immediately bonded with our student athletes and has hit the ground running. Her knowledge of the game, calm demeanor and delivery is a perfect fit.  I am thrilled to have her on our staff and so thankful our student athletes have such a dedicated, passionate mentor and role model in her."

Carter received a number of honors from the America East Conference during her four years at Albany. The list included All-Rookie Team in 2015, Sixth Player of the Year in 2016 and both All-Conference third team and All-Defensive Team as a senior.

Albany's all-time leader in blocked shots (154), Carter amassed 986 points, 642 rebounds and 116 steals in 125 career games for the Great Danes. During her career, Albany won three straight America East championships.

Carter played her high school basketball for Lake Region High School in Naples, Maine, and led the Lakers to a four-year record of 86-7. She earned first-team All-Conference honors all four seasons and surpassed both 1,000 points and 1,000 rebounds.

Carter received her Bachelor of Arts degree in communication and rhetoric in 2018.
