Gemma Selected to D2CCA All-East Region First Team

WALTHAM, Mass. – Bentley University senior All-America Jen Gemma (Milton/Fontbonne Academy), the Falcons' all-time leading scorer, has been selected to the 2017 Division II Conference Commissioners Association All-East Region team for the second straight year.

The two-time Northeast-10 Player of the Year led the Falcons to a 26-6 record and the NE10's Northeast Division regular season title. Prior to the season ending with a first-round loss in the NCAA East Regional, Gemma's team was ranked 14th nationally in Division II by the Women's Basketball Coaches Association.

Gemma closed out her stellar career by averaging 18.5 points, 8.7 rebounds, two assists and 1.1 steals during her senior season. She had 16 20-point games and nine double-doubles, including four in her last six games.

Gemma, who owns three of the four highest single season scoring averages in Bentley women's basketball history, totaled 2,151 points and 1,084 rebounds in 127 career games. She's the only player in program history with at least 2,000 points and 1,000 rebounds and the first NE10 player to accomplish that feat in the last 20 years.

This is the third straight year that the region's sports information directors have recognized Gemma. In addition to being a first-team honoree the last two seasons and the 2016 East Region Player of the Year, she was a second-team selection as a sophomore in 2015.
