News Tribune: "Bentley University women’s basketball team on road to NCAAs"

Scott Souza, sports editor of the Waltham News Tribune, recently caught up with the Bentley women's basketball team in advance of the NCAA Div. II East Regional, which starts Friday. Here's his story that appeared in the Mar. 9 edition of the paper and online at www.wickedlocal.com/waltham.

WALTHAM – The first time the Bentley University women's basketball team traveled to Long Island and suffered a setback to Northeast-10 rival Adelphi this season, the Falcons followed up the defeat with 14 straight victories.

The hope is that Sunday's loss to Adelphi in the NE-10 title game will serve as the same motivation when the Falcons travel back to Garden City, New York for the third time in two months for the NCAA Northeast Regionals beginning Friday night.

"After the Adelphi loss in the middle of the season," said junior guard Lauren Green, "it really sparked us to play better. We knew it was time to focus even harder than we even had before.

"We're really excited to get another chance. We're focused and ready for it."
