Falcons Sweep Saint Rose, 3-1 and 4-2

WALTHAM, Mass. – Bentley swept Saint Rose 3-1 and 4-2 on Thursday in its final home games of the regular season. They improved to 10-10 in NE10 games with two contests left.

 

Bentley 3, Saint Rose 1

Kylee Amato went 3-4 with an RBI and Jordan Krause clobbered her fifth home run of the season in Bentley's game one win. Riley Piromalli won her 10th game of the season and tossed her 14th complete game. She allowed just two hits and struck out six.

Amato put Bentley on the board in the bottom of the second with RBI double to score Katie Welch.

Krause then gave the Falcons a 2-0 lead with a homer to left field in the bottom of the third. Gabby Longo made it 3-0 in the fourth with an RBI single to left that scored Ava Lanza.

Piromalli didn't allow a hit until a home run by Maddy Bland to lead off the fifth, but that was the only run Saint Rose could muster.

 

Bentley 4, Saint Rose 2

Payton Doiron pitched 6.1 innings to earn her seventh win of the year. She struck out five and allowed just three hits.

The first career home run for freshman outfielder Jess Morrison, a two run shot, gave the Falcons a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the fourth.

With the game scoreless and Jacqueline Cupoli on base after a walk, Morrison blasted a pitch by Hannah Breen to left field to put Bentley in front.

In the bottom of the fifth, Sabrina Grizzaffi drove in Krause from first with a double to center to make it 3-0. Three batters later, Cupoli singled to score Grizzaffi.

Dorion worked into the seventh inning and got the first out, before giving way to Piromalli who recorded the final two outs.
