Krause's multi-hit game not enough at Adelphi

GARDEN CITY, N.Y. – Jordan Krause collected her seventh multi-hit game of the season, but the Bentley softball team lost both ends of a doubleheader at Adelphi Saturday afternoon. The Panthers took the first game, 3-0, and then won the second, 4-2.

Payton Doiron worked a complete game in the circle in the first game. It was her fourth complete game of the season. Riley Piromalli tallied her 11th complete of the season in the second game against Adelphi.

After going 1-for-3 at the plate in the first game Saturday, Krause went 2-for-3 in the second game. She hit a one-out single in the first inning, and added a leadoff single in the fourth inning.

Bentley took a 1-0 lead in the third inning of the second game. Katie Welch led off with a double, and she moved up to third base thanks to a sacrifice bunt by Jacqueline Cupoli. Ava Lanza promptly followed with an RBI single up the middle.

The Falcons' second run came in the seventh inning. Hailey Feiler drew a one-out walk. J. Morrison came in to pinch run, and she scored on a double hit by Sabrina Grizzaffi.

The Falcons remain in New York for a doubleheader at Pace Sunday, April 14, starting at 12 p.m.
