Bentley softball has a tough road schedule this week

WALTHAM, Mass. – With five Northeast-10 wins in its last six conference outings, the Bentley softball team prepares for three NE10 doubleheaders on the road this week. The Falcons take on Assumption Tuesday, April 9, starting at 3 p.m. Later this week, Bentley heads to New York for games at Adelphi (April 13) and Pace (April 14).

 

Jordan's three-piece

Jordan Krause was named the NE10 Player of the Week after belting three home runs last week. One of those homers was an eighth-inning walk-off against Southern Connecticut. Overall this season, Krause is hitting .356 with three home runs and 16 RBI.

 

Sabrina's magic

Sabrina Grizzaffi had three multi-hit games last week, including two different three-hit efforts against New Haven. She clubbed her first home run of the season against the Chargers (April 5). She hit .455 last week with eight RBI, increasing her season batting average to .324.

 

One-two punch

Riley Piromalli earned three complete-game victories in the circle last week, and Payton Doiron earned two victories with complete-game efforts during the week. The duo combined for a 2.95 ERA last week, whiffing 26 batters in the process.

 

Amato's milestones

Kylee Amato belted her first-career home during Bentley's win at St. Anselm last week (April 1), and she eclipsed 100 career hits during Bentley's doubleheader against New Haven (April 5).

 

Scouting Assumption (13-9, 7-1 NE10)

The first-place Greyhounds enter Tuesday's game with nine wins in their last 10 games. Assumption leads the NE10 in batting average (.309), RBI (106), and stolen bases (62). Jordan Dwyer is tied for the conference lead in steals (13). Six players have 10+ RBI, lead by 14 from Corin Mahan.

 

Scouting Adelphi (15-15, 6-2 NE10)

The Panthers enter the week with eight consecutive wins. They take on Pace, April 9, before hosting Bentley. The Panthers like to run, as their 40 stolen bases are tied for second in the NE10. Jordyn Pasqueralli has 13 steals this season. The pitching staff's 2.29 ERA ranks third in the NE10. Lindsey Hibbs has a 1.42 ERA through 19 appearances (118.2 IP).

 

Scouting Pace (17-7, 6-2)

The Setters are winners in six of their last eight games. They take on Adelphi (April 9), St. Thomas Aquinas (April 10), and Assumption (April 13), before hosting Bentley (April 14). Pace's .306 team batting average is second in the NE10. Brianna Shea leads the conference in hitting (.449), while Riley Jenkins ranks third (.414) and Kelsey Higgins is fifth (.400). The pitching staff's 1.87 ERA paces the NE10. Giselle Garcia has a 1.65 ERA in 68.0 IP, and Anna Acevedo has a 1.96 ERA – also in 68.0 innings.
