Opening weekend ends with losses against Rollins, Florida Tech

LONGWOOD, Fla. – The Bentley softball team concluded its season-opening trip to Florida with losses against Rollins and Florida Tech Sunday. Both games ended in a 9-1 score.

Kylee Amato continued to stand out batting at the top of the lineup. She reached base three times between the two games. Amato holds a .400 on-base percentage through six games this season.

Hailey Feiler reached base four teams with three official at-bats Sunday. She walked twice against Florida Tech, and she had one hit in each game.

Amato hit an RBI single to score Katie Welch against Rollins, and Welch hit a sac fly to score Jordan Krause against Florida Tech.

The Falcons are off from competing until March 10, when they return to Florida for games against Caldwell and Slippery Rock. Bentley will also take on Shepherd (March 11), St. Thomas Aquinas (March 11), Indiana (PA) (March 12), and Bloomfield (March 12) in the Sunshine State.
