Fitzpatrick Recognized as NE10 Softball Pitcher of the Week

WALTHAM, Mass. – Bentley University senior left hander Kayleigh Fitzpatrick (East Hampstead, N.H./Timberlane Reg. HS) has been recognized as the Northeast-10 Conference Softball Pitcher of the Week for her efforts down in Florida last week.

In three appearances for the 7-7 Falcons, Fitzpatrick allowed only one unearned run and seven hits over 11 innings of work while winning her only decision. She allowed two hits in six innings and struck out four in a 9-1 win over Slippery Rock. She also pitched five scoreless innings against Salem in a 1-0 win.

Fitzpatrick has pitched 14.1 innings in five games this season for the 7-7 Falcons with a 1-0 record and a 1.47 ERA.

Two other Falcons were selected for the NE10 Weekly Honor Roll, sophomore pitcher Elise Pereira (Plainville/King Philip Reg. HS) and senior left fielder Stacey Korotsky (Raynham/Bridgewater-Raynham HS).

In three appearances, Pereira was 2-1 with a 1.75 ERA and five strikeouts in 12 innings of work. She pitched a one-hit shutout with five K's in a 2-0 win over St. Thomas Aquinas.

During a 4-2 week, Korotsky hit .368 with seven hits, six runs scored and five RBI. She had four RBI and three hits in a 12-4 win over Dominican and three hits and three runs scored in a 9-1 win over Slippery Rock.
