Tolan Leads Bentley in CCSU Ted Owen Invitational

NEW BRITAIN, Conn. – Senior co-captain Brice Tolan (Abington, Mass./Abington HS) was the top runner for the Bentley University men's cross country team during Central Connecticut State's Ted Owen Invitational at the Stanley Quarter Park Saturday.

In a predominately Division I meet, Tolan ran the 8,000-meter course in 27:29. That was good for 35th overall, in a field of 165, and fifth among Division II competitors.

Other Falcons who finished in the top 100 were senior Nick Ondr (Ozark, Mo./Glendale HS) and junior Matt Chicko (North Andover, Mass./North Andover HS). Ondr was 92nd in 28:53 and Chicko 100th in 29:05.

With a team score of 306, Bentley finished 11th among 13 teams. The host Blue Devils claimed the championship over runner-up Merrimack College, 35-78.

Jeffrey Nicholas, running unattached, captured the individual title by two seconds over CCSU's James Sullivan, with his winning performance 25:27.

The next meet for Bentley is the New Englands at Franklin Pierce two weeks from today.
