Academic All-Conference Honors for Haas & Murphy

WALTHAM, Mass. – Bentley University senior Nik Haas (Ramsey, N.J./Ramsey HS) and sophomore teammate Cody Murphy (Dunbarton, N.H./Goffstown HS) were selected for the 2016 Academic All-Northeast-10 Conference team for men's cross country.

Haas helped Bentley qualify for the NCAA Division II Championships by placing 14th overall in the NCAA East Regional with a time of 32:11.1. A USTFCCCA All East Region selection for the third time, he also placed 25th in the conference championships, 125th in the New Englands and 162nd at the nationals.

This is the fifth time that Haas has received Academic All-Conference recognition, the second time for cross country (2014).

Murphy finished 21st in the NCAA Regional (32:19.5) along with 31st at the Northeast-10's and 173rd at the New Englands. An injury prevented the two-time USTFCCCA All-Region honoree from finishing at the NCAA Championships.

Both have excelled in the classroom while majoring in finance. Haas has earned a 3.78 GPA with six appearances on the President's List, and Murphy is also up there with a 3.71 GPA.

Bentley and Stonehill College were the only two institutions to have two runners named to the Academic All-Conference team in men's cross country.
