WALTHAM, Mass. – Bentley University freshman Cody Murphy (Dunbarton, N.H./Goffstown HS) has been named the Men's Cross Country Rookie of the Week following his performance in Saturday's UMass-Dartmouth Invitational.

Murphy, making his collegiate debut, was the Falcons' first runner to finish as he placed 41st overall with a 5-mile time of 26:35.73. A total of 324 runners competed in the event with the Falcon freshman finishing in the top 15 percent.

Murphy is a former team captain and valedictorian at Goffstown who finished ninth in the 2014 New Hampshire Division II Cross Country Championships.

Bentley's next competition is the Roy Griak Invitational in Minnesota on Saturday.
