Dextradeur Breaks Tape, Leading Bentley Men to Sweep at Shacklette Invitational

MANCHESTER, N.H. -- With sophomore Rob Dextradeur (Branford, Conn./Branford HS) leading the way, the Bentley University men's cross country team had the top seven finishers, and 11 of the first 14, in the Shacklette Invitational at Saint Anselm College Saturday afternoon.

Bentley finished its season-opening meet with the lowest possible score, 15 points, and finished 55 points in front of second-place Saint Anselm.  A total of seven teams participated in the annual meet,

Dextradeur covered the 8,000-meter course in 26:58.1, crossing the finish line 5.8 seconds in front of runner-up and classmate Craig Robinson (Scarborough, Maine/Scarborough HS).

Rounding out the event's, and Bentley's top five, were junior Bryan Sutherland (Farmingdale, N.Y./Chaminade HS) in 27:12.7, sophomore John Drago (Avon, Conn./Avon HS) in 27:19.3 and sophomore Curtis Trueb (East Chester, N.Y./East Chester HS) in 27:19.9.

Bentley's next meet is the Codfish Bowl in two weeks.
