Lesniak, Reagan to Serve as Bentley Cross Country Captains; Falcons Open Saturday

WALTHAM, Mass. -- Senior Lauren Lesniak (Dracut/Dracut HS) will be the captain of the 2010 Bentley University women's cross country team, and classmate Sean Reagan (Marcellus, N.Y./Marcellus HS) will serve as captain of the men's cross country team, head coach Ed Lyons announced.

In addition to being team leaders, both are standouts in the classroom with grade point averages among the highest of any of Bentley's approximately 500 student-athletes, and each earned Academic All-Northeast-10 honors during their junior year. Lesniak majors in accounting major and Reagan's major is corporate finance and accounting.

Lesniak was the top runner for the women's team in five of six races last fall. She placed 17th in the Northeast-10 Conference Championships to earn third-team All-Northeast-10 honors, and was 19th in the NCAA Division II East Regional.

Reagan was generally one of the team's top five runners last season. He placed 43rd in the Northeast-10 Championships and 44th in the NCAA Division II East Regional.

Both Bentley teams launch their season on Saturday with the Shacklette Invitational at Saint Anselm College.

In the preseason rankings, the Falcon men were fifth in the NCAA Division II East Region and sixth in the conference. The Bentley women were listed as sixth in the NE-10 and eighth in the region.
