Track and Field Begins Indoor Season Saturday at Suffolk Relays

WALTHAM, Mass. – The Bentley track and field teams get their indoor season underway on Saturday at the Suffolk Relays, held at the Track at New Balance.

The team will be captained by seniors Evan Bean (hurdles), Ryan Dennehy (sprints) and Nick Luther (javelin).

Bean and Dennehy are among several returning athletes that have registered top times in the Bentley indoor record books. Bean owns the 7th fastest time in the 300M and Dennehy the 15th fastest time in the 200M.

Sophomore Ryan Orr ran the 5th fastest time in the 600M and the 13th fastest time in the 800M last season.

Orr and senior Matt Chicko made up half of the 4x800 relay team that ran the 5th fastest time in program history at the NE10 Indoor Championship last season.

Sophomore Casey O'Connor is the school record holder in the weight throw, set at the NE10s.

Saturday's meet is one of five indoor meets that lead up to the NE10 Indoor Championship in mid-February.

The teams will be back at New Balance next Sunday for the Beacon Invitational. That will be the final meet of the semester, before they pick up back again in late January with the Greater Boston Track Club Championships at Harvard.

The NE10s are set for Feb. 16-17 at New Balance.
