Tolan, Deehan Climb on Northeast-10 Performance List

BOSTON, Mass. – In the team's final action before next week's Northeast-10 Conference Championships, Bentley University seniors Brice Tolan (Abington/Abington HS) and Jack Deehan (Westwood/Westwood HS) each moved into the top ten on the NE10 performance list during Saturday's David Hemery Valentine Invitational at Boston University.

Tolan ran the mile in 4:18.71, a personal best by 1.72 seconds, and climbed to number five.

Deehan's 1:55.95 in the 800 meters elevated him to ninth on the NE10 list and to number 13 on Bentley's all-time list. It was a personal best by 1.19 seconds.

Those were two of ten new PRs achieved during the massive meet. Also among them were a 22.98 achieved by junior Ryan Dennehy (Andover/Andover HS) in the 200, a new personal best by 0.62 seconds.

Other PR's in the 200 were recorded by sophomores Andrew Goehrig (Ramsey, N.J./Ramsey HS) (23.60, 0.19) and Jared Podrazik (Ashburnham/Oakmont Reg. HS) (24.52, 0.33).

The list also included junior Matthew Chicko (North Andover/North Andover HS) in the 800 (1:58.14, 0.45) and all four Falcons who competed in the 400. They were junior Evan Bean (Clifton Park, N.Y./Shenendehowa HS) (50.97, 1.18), sophomore Alex Lawes (Brick, N.J./Brick Township HS) (51.18, 0.10), sophomore Hayden Pike (South Weymouth/Weymouth HS (52.06, 1.89) and freshman John Jennings (North Reading/North Reading HS (54.67, 2.38).

The only Falcon to finish in the top half of his event was senior Jonathan Solimine (Braintree/Braintree HS) in the 60, who was 42nd of 86 with a 7.29.

The Northeast-10 Championships will begin at the Track at New Balance on Thursday.
