Lawes, Power & Goehrig Among Top Performers for Bentley Track Saturday

WALTHAM, Mass. – Sophomore Finn Power (East Lyme, Conn./East Lyme HS) and a pair of freshmen, Alex Lawes (Brick, N.J./Brick Township HS) and Andrew Goehrig (Ramsey, N.J./Ramsey HS), were among the top performers for the Bentley University men's track and field team on Saturday in meets at the University of Maine and Boston University.

In the 800 meters at the Maine Saturday Invitational in Orono, Power finished fourth among 12 runners with a time of 2:06.12

Goehrig, also at Maine, was sixth of 25 in the 200 (24.05) and 11th of 24 in the 60 (7.68).

Power, one of five Falcons who competed in the David Hemery Valentine's Invitational at Boston University, set a new personal best in the 400 with his time of 51.28 an improvement of 3.39 seconds and good for 119th in a field of 198.

In the 400 at Maine, sophomore Evan Bean (Clifton Park, N.Y./Shenendehowa, N.Y.) and senior Devin Wendel (Westfield, N.J./Westfield HS) were fifth and sixth, respectively. Bean finished in 53.19 and Wendel followed in 54.30.

In the shot put, junior Jason Caplan (Westport, Conn./Staples HS) bettered his PR by more than three feet with a throw of 34 feet, one-quarter inch. That put him 15th among 27 competitors.
