3 Falcons Move into Top Ten in Program History at BU; Deehan Leads Men’s Team

BOSTON, Mass. – Three members of the Bentley University women's indoor track and field team turned in performances that rank in the top six in program history during the Bruce Lehane Scarlet and White Invitational at Boston University's Track and Tennis Center.

Sophomore Lucy Ambroult (Holbrook/Holbrook HS) had a strong meet as she ran the 200 meters in 26.89 seconds, cleared 16'8" in the long jump and posted a time of 8.22 in the 60. Her long jump performance elevated her to fifth on Bentley's all-time list and improved on her personal best by an inch-and-a-half.               

On the 200 list, Ambroult moved to number six with her time a PR by 1.06 seconds. In the predominantly Division I meet, she finished 14th of 22 in the long jump, 31st of 49 in the 60 and 76th of 91 in the 200.

Junior Hannah Greene (Weston, Conn./Weston HS) was 11th of 26 in the high jump with her height of 5'1.25" sixth best in program history and a new PR by a quarter inch.

Sophomore Angie Grabmeier (Hopkinton/Hopkinton HS), with a 34'11.75" in the triple jump, moved to sixth on Bentley's all-time list and to ninth on the Northeast-10 Conference performance list for the season. She finished 13th among 22 competitors.

Two freshmen, Caitlin Burmester (Willow Grove, Pa./ Upper Dublin HS) and Lauren Joseph (Coventry, R.I./Coventry HS), moved into the top ten on the NE10 performance list following new personal bests. Burmester climbed to fifth in the 800 with a 2:23.54, good for 40th in a field of 70, and Joseph's 5:24.15 in the mile was good for ninth.

In the New Englands, contested at the Reggie Lewis Center, senior Chase Davies (Marblehead/Marblehead HS) finished 11th of 30 in the 60 hurdles after turning in a 9.27 second time.

On the men's side at BU, junior Jack Deehan (Westwood/Westwood HS) improved on his PR in the 800 by 1.66 seconds with a 1:57.14. That was ninth best in the conference this season and 47th of 77 overall.

The 4x400 relay team finished in 3:31.06, seventh best in the conference to date and ninth among 14 in the meet. That quartet consisted of sophomores Evan Bean (Clifton Park, N.Y./ Shenendehowa HS) and Finn Power (East Lyme, Conn./East Lyme HS), freshman Hayden Pike (South Weymouth/South Weymouth HS) and senior Devin Wendel (Westfield, N.J./Westfield HS).

Next weekend, Bentley will compete in the Maine Saturday Invitational and the Boston University Dave Hemery Valentine Invitational.
