Bentley Men Compete in Boston University’s John Thomas Terrier Classic

BOSTON, Mass. – The Bentley University men's indoor track team competed in the snow-delayed John Thomas Terrier Classic Sunday at Boston University's Track and Tennis Center with six different Falcons achieving new personal bests.

Junior Brice Tolan (Abington/Abington HS) improved on his PR in the mile by more than eight seconds with a time of 4:28.57, good for 106th place in a field of 147.

In the 400 meters, new bests were achieved by sophomore Evan Bean (Clifton Park, N.Y./ Shenendehowa HS) and freshman Hayden Pike (South Weymouth/Weymouth HS). Bean's 53.79 bettered his best by 1.83 seconds and Pike's 53.95 was an improvement of 2.31. Senior Joey Wix (Granby, Conn./Granby Memorial HS) was Bentley's top finisher in the event, 56th with a 52.99 while Bean and Pike were 60th and 61st, respectively.

In the 800, junior Jack Deehan (Westwood/Westwood HS) and sophomore Matthew Chicko (North Andover/North Andover HS) climbed on the Northeast-10 Conference performance list, to 11th and 13th, respectively. Deehan ran a 1:58.30, a PR by 1.49 seconds, to finish 74th of 120, and Chicko's 1:59.15 put him 78th overall.

In the 4x400, with Wix running the anchor leg, Bentley was 10th of 14 with a 3:31.98. good for seventh on the NE10 performance list. Bean ran the opening leg and was followed by freshmen Andrew Goehrig (Ramsey, N.J./Ramsey HS) and Alex Lawes (Brick, N.J./Brick Township HS).

This Friday and Saturday, Bentley will compete in the New Englands at the Reggie Lewis Center.
