Maselli Leads Bentley During Northeast-10 Championships

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Senior Peter Maselli (Croton-on-Hudson, N.Y./Hendrick Hudson HS) was the top performer for the Bentley University Falcons Friday during the 2012 Northeast-10 Conference Men's Track and Field Championships at American International College.

Maselli was third in the javelin with his throw of 177 feet, four inches an improvement on his previous best by 14 inches. It also elevated him to tenth on Bentley's all-time list in the event.

In the 800 meters, junior Jack Deehan (Westwood/Westwood HS) and freshman Matthew Chicko (North Andover/North Andover HS) both improved on their personal bests while finishing seventh and ninth, respectively. Deehan bettered his by 0.10 seconds with a 1:57.62, and Chicko finished in 2:00.85, an improvement of 2.37 on his PR.

Bentley was fourth in the 4x400 relay with Deehan and Chicko combining with senior Mark Stanic (Lincoln Park, N.J./Boonton HS) and junior Joe Wix (Granby, Conn./Granby Memorial HS) for a time of 3:27.25.

As a team, Bentley finished in eighth place with 15 points.

The team championship went to Southern Connecticut, which outscored runner-up American International 301.5-176.
