Arias Wins Twice during SNHU Last Chance Qualifier

MANCHESTER, N.H. – Bentley University freshman Anthony Arias (Revere, Mass./Revere GS) earned two of his team's four first-place finishes during the Southern New Hampshire University Last Chance Conference Qualifier Saturday.

Arias was first of three in the long jump, clearing 19 feet, 9.75 inches, and had an identical showing in the triple jump with a 41'10.75" showing. His effort in the triple jump improved on his previous best by 17.25 inches and moved him to 13th on Bentley's all-time list in the event.

Bentley's other winning performances came from junior Joe Chau (Watertown, Mass./ Watertown HS) in the discus (117'4") and junior Joe Wix (Granby, Conn./Granby Memorial HS) in the 200, with his time of 23.70 seconds a new personal best. Wix was followed across the finish line by classmate Devin Wendel (Westfield, N.J./Westfield HS) in 24.27.

Sophomore Jack Deehan (Westwood, Mass./Westwood HS) was third of 12 in the 800, finishing in 1:57.72. That improved on his previous best by 4.113 seconds and elevated him to seventh on the Northeast-10 Conference performance list.

Team scoring was kept with Bentley finishing second among four teams with 104 points. Franklin Pierce University took first with 104

Next up for the Falcons is the Northeast-10 Conference Championships in Springfield at American International College Friday and Saturday.
