Bentley Led by Basu & Deehan at Merrimack Quadrangular

NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. -- Senior Soham Basu (Ridgewood, N.J./Ridgewood HS) and sophomore Jack Deehan (Westwood/Westwood HS) had the highest finishes for the Bentley University men's track and field team during a quadrangular meet at Merrimack College Friday afternoon.

Basu was second of 11 in the 5,000 meters, finishing in 16:30.00, and Deehan was third of 11 in the 800, his 2:01.85 lowering his personal best by nearly a quarter-of-a-second.

Senior Jared Reimer (Berlin, Conn./Berlin HS), in the 100, was fifth of 11 with a wind-aided time of 11.35, and junior Joe Wix (Granby, Conn./Granby Memorial HS) was fifth of 14 in the 200 (23.52 WA). Wix was also third of five in the 400 (52.52).

Among those establishing new PRs were freshman Antony Arias (Revere/Revere), in the long jump (21'6.75") and triple jump (41'0.5"), and junior Joe Chau (Watertown/Watertown HS), in the discus (119'4").

Next Saturday, in the final meet before the Northeast-10 Championships, Bentley will be at Southern New Hampshire.
